Hey there! My name is Laura, or Laura May. (she/they) Volition Tattoo is my private tattoo studio located in Clovis, CA. I have been drawing and painting since I can remember holding a pencil! I believe art is the most honest genuine thing us humans have and I love creating! Though I started to learn how to tattoo in 2012, I consider my official tattoo career to have started in 2014. I opened this space in 2020 with the hopes of providing a safe clean private space to create art and tattoo. I appreciate every client that has trusted me to work with them. I specialize in black, fine line, illustrative style tattoos. I primarily do custom tattoos and work closely with my clients to make sure they get a unique piece. Even though I plan to focus more on flash pieces in the future I will always be open to discuss your concept. This is a private studio I do not take walk-ins. I operate by appointment only, this includes consultations.

What to expect at a consultation:

During the consultation we meet and discuss your tattoo idea. We will go over size, placement and other important details of your tattoo concept. I will take any necessary measurements and photos of the area you want tattooed and maybe even get a rough sketch of your concept mapped out. Depending on what you want tattooed the consultation can be any where from 10min-45min. If this is your first tattoo the consultation is the perfect time to address any questions/comments/concerns you may have with the tattoo process. I will also send you home with an aftercare sheet. By the end of the consultation I’ll have you fill out a Consultation Agreement form, this form will include your info, my policies, an estimated cost for your tattoo, your tattoo appointment date and any specific notes I have taken during our meeting. A consultation is $50. This amount does not go towards the final cost of the tattoo. CASH or CARD ONLY.

How to book:

Please send me an E-mail to book a consultation. My consultation availability varies, I post my availability on my Instagram. If I don’t have availability posted then I don’t have availability and you can email me to be put on my waitlist. (Waitlist spots are limited, if my waitlist is full I will let you know) When you email me please be thorough and include a description of the tattoo idea you have. If I don’t know what you are looking to get tattooed there is no way to estimate how long the tattoo would take, therefore I can’t determine if I have availability.

Deposits and Fees:

Anything listed as a “Fee” does NOT go towards the final cost of the tattoo and is NON-REFUNDABLE. Deposit amounts vary depending on the tattoo design. Deposits are non refundable and they DO go towards the final cost of the tattoo. Deposits are only good for ONE tattoo concept and can’t be transferred to a different design. Deposits can be paid with cash or card only. I will not accept more than 50% of an estimated tattoo cost as a deposit. A deposit for the tattoo will be collected at the time of the consultation in addition to the consultation fee.
